Each Tuesday, FADER editor Matthew Schnipper highlights an underappreciated recent release he thinks we need to know about. This week it’s Franz Ferdinand’s “Michael” remixed by Thomas Eriksen, which you can buy here. Listen to “Michael” down below and read about it after the jump.
The only person who cares about what I eat is my mother (sometimes my grandmother, but she has Alzheimer’s, so she only asks when she remembers). Franz Ferdinand, they got a book deal out of people caring about their dietary concerns. When you can write (and subsequently sell) a book about noshing on tour you are not slept on. So I should clarify that I have no dubious ulterior motive, no unheralded true light I am trying to shine. People know who Franz Ferdinand is, they are unslept, they are stars. So, good for them, but better for us. Because they have such a giddy populous of fans, they can still manage enough fervor to release a fourth single and pull enough reach to get some goofball to remake it worthy.
