The MTV blog where “Mansard Roof” debuted claims Vampire Weekend are making fun of their preppy image with this, their first, video, but we’re more likely to believe that the director heard the song and offered to take them on a boat to which they said “yes.” Since when is boating ironic? Boating is boating.
