Jane's Addiction Co-Founder Joins Dangerbird Records

The Los Angeles-based Dangerbird Records, home of Tripwire favorites Silversun Pickups, The One AM Radio and Sea Wolf, has just added another impressive artist to their roster. Eric Avery is a man with deep roots in the history of the alternative rock genre of music as a co-founder of Jane's Addiction. The bassist has also contributed to a number of amazing projects, including records by Peter Murphy, Garbage, Smashing Pumpkins and plenty of others.

His adventurous solo project under the Polar Bear moniker ended back in 2000, but now Avery has returned under his own name with a collection of new songs for his upcoming album, Help Wanted. He did receive plenty of help from some musician friends on the record, including Shirley Manson (Garbage), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) and Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers). We've heard some early bits of the album, and we can assure you that so far it sounds mighty amazing. You can hear "All Remote And No Control" on his MySpace page. You'll have to wait until April 8, 2008 to get a copy for yourself, but it will be worth the wait!
