You might be asking why we keep up on Yola’s recovery when he’s only had one song that dented the mainstream. First of all, if you’ve heard “Ain’t Gonna Let Up” or anything off his 7 Grams mixtape you already understand. Second, the kid puts out these entertaining videos of himself talking a mile a minute through jaw wires and poplocking to Lil Mama in his hospital room. Third, he got shot in the face and is improbably happier and more fun than when he was happiest/most fun dude in rap. Fourth, um, we like happy people!
