The timing of this news couldn't have been any more perfect. Just last week we told you about Tricky's upcoming new album, an artist who has collaborated in the past with singer Martina Topley Bird. Just a handful of days later, Bird announces the first single to come from her new record, "The Blue God." It also happens to be the title track of her album.
The album was produced by her longtime buddy Dangermouse, who made some mighty waves with Gnarls Barkley and his production duties on the Demon Days album by Gorillaz. This will mark her sophomore solo album, her first being Quixotic, which was a finalist for the Mercury Prize back in 2004. "The Blue God" single will hit stores in the UK on March 3 via Independiente. We can only hope that the album will find a home here in the States as well.
