Of all of the bands that took the stage at last year's FADER Sideshow, a personal favorite was Alberta Cross. Comprised of Petter Ericson Stakee and Terry Wolfers, these two London lads grew up on the classics from The Band, Van Morrison and Leonard Cohen, influences that definitely come through in their own sound. They create a brilliant concoction of rock, blending together folk, alt-country and rootsy soul that goes perfectly with a good glass of whiskey.
Stakee and Wolfers are returning to the east coast for five acoustic performances in NYC. We can't think of a better way to escape the winter chill than by holing up in one of these venues for a night of music from Alberta Cross. If you haven't picked it up already, their album The Thief & The Heartbreaker is mighty great as well. Perhaps seeing them live could inspire you to snag the disc. Here are the dates:
