Flashback Friday Video - Reverend Horton Heat "One Time For Me"

Growing up in the Dallas area, I was lucky to have had so many opportunities to see the Reverend Horton Heat perform live. Their maddening style of psychobilly / rockabilly was mind blowing to witness in person, with frontman Jim Heath's guitar skills so insanely amazing you'd swear he must have sold is soul to the devil in exchange for that kind of talent.

The band released several top-notch albums, including personal favorites The Full-Custom Gospel Sounds Of The Reverend Horton Heat, Liquor In The Front and Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em. The good Reverend is still touring relentlessly, with a batch of dates coming up this April. We should also point out that Heath's side project, Reverend Organdrum, has an album out now on Yep Roc.

Reverend Horton Heat didn't film many videos, but "One Time For Me" holds a special place in my heart, as it was filmed in the now-defunct Dallas music venue Trees. I spent many a night in that spot, which makes this the perfect clip for this week's Flashback Friday Video. You can find this particular song on their '94 album, Liquor In The Front.
