New Bishop Lamont songs are like little surprise presents that come around once every four months or so, and the person giving them to us keeps on promising us a really big one that is perpetually right around the corner. These songs are notable because they made us care about Xzibit as a rapper again and also because "Gorilla Pimpin 5008" has a shoegaze undercurrent of rippling synth washes that seemed so strange that we actually had to check twice to make sure we weren't playing two songs at once. Both of these are from the Bishop Lamont and DJ Whoo Kid mixtape The Confessional, which is being put out to promote Lamont's supposedly upcoming album, we'll start holding our breath now.
