Deerhunter Readies Microcastle For Fall

Information on Deerhunter's follow-up to Cryptograms has finally surfaced, and we won't have to wait long to hear it. The new album is titled Microcastle, which will be available in the US starting on October 28 via Kranky. Deerhunter recorded the new tunes as a four piece, consisting of Bradford Cox, Lockett Pundt, Joshua Fauver, and Moses Archuleta.

The band set up camp at Rare Book Studios in Brooklyn, knocking out the album over the course of one week. Guitarist Pundt took the lead vocals on two tracks, "Agoraphobia" and "Neither Of Us, Uncertainly." Also, Cole Alexander from the Black Lips offered his help on "Saved By Old Times," on which he crafted a vocal collage.

The first single will be "Nothing Ever Happened," complete with a demo of "Little Kids" as the b-side. The 7" vinyl will precede the full album, although we don't know a specific release date for the single yet. We also know that Deerhunter will be touring to support the new LP in October and November, although right now the only confirmed dates are in support of Nine Inch Nails in August and September.
