It Makes Us Tired Just Thinking About How Hard Marty Stuart Works

August 26, 2008

It saddens us to think that living in New York City has so separated us from rural living that a cable channel broadcasting shows such as "Purina Cattle IMPACT Live" and "Little Britches Rodeo" seems wildly alien. RFD TV, "Rural America's Most Important Network", is such a channel, though, and they have taken it upon themselves to resurrect or re-air such country classics as "Hee Haw", "Crook & Chase" and "The Porter Wagoner Show." But they also have a new ringer on their schedule with Marty Stuart and his new weekly variety show. Sure, we may not ever see it here, but if we know Stuart, it will be incredible. He's the producer and host, and every episode will feature a performance by his band the Fabulous Superlatives and his co-host will be the legendary Nashville radio man and Grand Ole Opry announcer Eddie Stubbs.

As if that and making music were not accomplish enough, Stuart 's private country music memorabilia collection "Sparkle and Twang: Marty Stuart's American Odyssey" is opening at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland Ohio the day before Halloween, another volume of his personal photography will be published this fall, and he has a weekly XM Radio show titled "Marty Stuart's American Odyssey". He'll probably release a couple albums in there, as well. He also has the sickest hair ever. Read our Gen F on Marty Stuart from FADER 35.
