Freeload: Peedi Crakk, “More Towels”
- story THE FADER
In 1988, Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock released “It Takes Two,” and the Lehman Brothers financial services firm, having already merged with American Express-backed Shearson, combined with venerable stock brokerage firm EF Hutton to create a company with $3.7 billion in capital, $102 billion in assets under management and 2.9 million active customers, ranking second in the industry behind only Merrill Lynch & Company.
Twenty years later, it’s a wrap for Lehman and Merrill Lynch and Peedi Crakk is screwing down “It Takes Two” to make a song about dirty laundry. What does it all mean? Who knows, but thank god we’re already poor and music is free.
