Beach House Releases New Single From Upcoming 7"

Of the bands to come out of the exploding Baltimore scene, it could be argued Beach House has the most "mature" sound. Maybe this is why on their first official 7" - despite only 2 songs - Alex and Victoria are trying to convey "a small history of the band, where they came from, and where they're going."

Carpark Records will be releasing the limited edition single featuring the new song "Used To Be" with the b-side being a four-track demo version of "Apple Orchard", which originally appeared on their self-titled album. Including one of their oldest songs fronted by one of their newest, and recorded over the summer of 2008 after many exhaustive months of touring, "Used To Be" "contemplates the spiritual and physical effects of life on the everchanging road, love and getting older." Either not taking their own advice, or just addicted to the road, the Baltimore duo is still out on the road with the single set to drop the day before their Carpark Records CMJ showcase.
