When Justin Moyer was stricken by his first epileptic seizure at age 25 in 2001, whispers of concern rippled through Washington, D.C.'s close-knit punk community. Was the founding member of third-generation Dischord stalwarts El Guapo and Antelope to be sidelined by a long-dormant neurological malady?

Enter Ian MacKaye and Dischord (to be fair, DeSoto Records for 2005's Her Love Is Real...But She Is Not) and an all star band (The Brunettes) that features friends and label mates Melissa Quinley (Soccer Team), Chad Molter (Faraquet, Medications), Jason Hutto (The Aquarium), Ben Azzara (The Capitol City Dusters), Amy Farina (The Evens) and Basla Andlosun (Beauty Pill) among others. The end result is a new ten song LP for "Edie Sedgwick" - the nom de plume Moyer swiped from the Andy Warhol Superstar.

Entitled Things Are Getting Sinister And Sinisterer, the album was produced by McKaye and will be released on vinyl and mp3 only - a Dischord first. We're not entirely sure of the reason for the titles of his songs (all named after, um... "messed up" celebrities), but our guess is they each represent a side of the Edie Sedgwick personality. To further his vision of "an inter-actable record," Moyer will post videos for each track on his website between now and the release date. The first of which is the track "Sissy Spacek", a lo-fi nu-wave-punk song the builds upon a walking bass-line with Moyer giving us his best bitchy Sedgwick; "Gonna sing about what I'm about / Gonna be about what I'm about."
