In celebration of the totally unexpected pardon of John Forte by President Bush, we are republishing our Gen F story from FADER Number 10 (the Winter 2001/02 issue) in which Forte and then editor-at-large Knox Robinson pondered the meaning of I, John, the album Forte completed while on house arrest awaiting appeal. Seven years later, he’s out thanks to some good friends and we’re looking forward to some new music. No pressure!
