Even though we have to put our hands over our boyfriends’ eyes every time she comes on the television, we are glad that Keri Hilson is going to be an even bigger star. She is a rare lady songwriter in a land of beat snausages (Are the Runaways snausages?), which is partly why we put her on the cover of FADER 51 back in January, and also because she has a slayer voice, the kind that is solid but not too major to sound poppy and mess around and have fun real quick. “Energy” has piano on it but it’s not stupid piano, it’s cool piano.
