Freeload: Turbulence, “Gone With The Wind”
- story THE FADER
In Issue 31, FADER contributing editor Edwin “Stats” Houghton collected eight of Jamaica’s bobo dread vocalists — revivalists of one-drop conscious reggae — one of whom was St Andrews’ Sheldon Campbell aka Turbulence, whose “Notorious” soon thereafter made a lot of us think he was the future of all musics Caribbean (if only briefly). That may not have worked out, but Turbulence has a new song on Digital Ancient’s African Charm/Future Flow riddim called “Gone With The Wind” that, ahem, you should give a damn about.
