Roseville, California math-rock trio Tera Melos have been quiet these past few months while they were busy searching for a new drummer. Not to mention Nick Reinhart's much talked about side project with Zach Hill. Turns out they were just planning a few more surprises.
Luckily, Tera Melos did manage to find their new permanent drummer who goes by the name of John Clardy. Keeping it light while breaking him in, they decided to have some fun and record some covers of an interesting batch of favorites, hence the EP Idioms Vol I was born. According to their publicist, since the songs are covers, the band has decided to give away the entire EP for free, which you can get here.
Idioms Vol I track listing
01. Meant For You (Beach Boys)
02. Koka Kola (The Clash)
03. Tame (Pixies)
04. Blast Off! (Rivers Cuomo)
05. Hey Sandy (Polaris) - yes it's the Pete & Pete theme gong
And aside from the new (well, new versions of old) material, Tera Melos will hit the road later this month, making stops along the West coast. Joining them along the way will be Astronautalis, Every-body, Sbach and Them Hills.
