After taking a temporary break from his main musical project Bright Eyes, singer/songwriter Conor Oberst released his first solo album and coinciding tour in 12 years last summer. The quirky, bright-eyed musician known for his help launching Saddle Creek Records to prominence, will be heading out on the road with The Mystic Valley Band starting in early April for one more go at a "solo" tour.
Oberst, a Nebraska native, will kick off the tour on April 9 at the Slowdown in his home town of Omaha and according to his website, Conor and the band will be making stops in Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona throughout the month. The Mystic Valley Band backed Oberst on his self-titled album that was released on Merge Records last August.
In promotion for the album, Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band launched a 21-city tour last summer, branching throughout the U.S. and Europe. Word of new material from Oberst has yet to surface, but we look forward to hearing what the quiet-mannered musician has to showcase this time around.
