I Was A King - "Norman Bleik"

When we hear of bands coming out of Norway, we can usually expect either something dark, something synthy or, of course, something metal (black metal to be specific), but we rarely expect fuzzed-out power pop. Appropriately compared to Teenage Fanclub and the days when The Electric Prunes and The Strawberry Alarm Clock were ruling the radio airwaves, I Was A King gives us a warm, nostalgic, fuzzy feeling with this lead single from their forthcoming self-titled album.

While the full length will be coming out April 7 on The Control Group -- and features contributions from Sufjan Stevens, Serena Maneesh, Danielson and Ladybug Transistor -- they just split-released an import 7" with "Norman Bleik" b/w "It's All You" (the Sufjan track) yesterday (January 27) on the Norwegian and Danish labels Hype City and Morningside respectively. Of which, you can hear the A-side below.
