This has no business being as good as it is for a couple of really unmistakable reasons. In the wake of the Notorious movie and the numerous misguided yet obligatory “letters to…” Nipsey wins by paying tribute in the most unassuming way possible, ditching the “jacking for beats” approach, and whobanging all over a flighty chop of a Biggie song most Biggie fans don’t even listen to. Impressively, he doesn’t even mention Big, or any other childhood idols he never met, but the beat itself even sounds like something the honarble D-R-E would have loved (as a part of the
World Class Wreckin’ Cru of course).
