Yeah Yeah Yeahs Offer New Single and Video, Internet Takes Whole Album

February 24, 2009

You have to feel for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs who worked on an album for three years, banned their signature element (guitars) just to challenge themselves, put on special shows to tide over their biggest fans, generally did nothing to offend the pirates hurtling toward their major label freighter, only to have Kanye West leak a song off their new album, thus alerting the world to its existence on the internet. Would it be wrong to suggest some sort of televised slapfight? Or maybe a style-off! Either one would be incredible, as is the now steady stream of new YYYs material traipsing all over our rss feeds. BUT, we're only going to point you towards the legit stuff because it will probably still be there when you Google this in a week: "Zero," the band's motorik first single from It's Blitz! (available today on iTunes) and an odd teaser clip for "The Scientist" from their video diary which will be known as SNAKESWEAT (their caps).
