Audio Premiere: The-Dream, Love vs. Money LP
- story THE FADER
The-Dream sings “I will throw down a cloud for you” on “Walkin’ on the Moon.” I will throw down a cloud for you! Holy shit, how many artists can pull that off without sounding like the corniest person ever? There really aren’t many, but Terius Nash is one of them. We already know that this album is going to dominate our summers, winters, plane rides, train rides and most of our waking moments for at least the next six months, but what we can’t figure out is how The-Dream and Tricky Stewart got so good at making the catchiest songs ever. Is there something in the Vegas water? Can we have some? Leave it to Dream to take one look at the entire “Recession Rap” oeuvre, boil it down to a simple, fairytale-like concept of Love vs. Money (we pick both) and then throw in a couple multi-part song movements just for fun. Okay, Mozart! Love vs. Money comes out March 10th on Def Jam but you can preview the whole thing right here until then.
