They had a bad break-up in 1992, but the recent garage resurgence must have woken them from their angry slumber, because The Gories have seemingly made amends and are getting back together. The legendary garage-punkers are putting themselves back on the scene for a short summer tour with The Oblivions starting in June.
The Gories will kick off their four date tour on June 19 in Memphis, and lets hope this will be the catalyst to jump start new material from the influential band, because we know we'd love to hear what they would have in store for us after 17 years of silence.
"We're still figuring out exactly how we're gonna pull this off," said Dan Kroah, guitarist of The Gories, according to freep.com. "I want it to be as close as possible to our original sound, because it's turned out to be timeless. But I'm also really excited about the prospect of seeing what new material might sound like."
