The Mars Volta Prep For Release Of Fifth Studio Album Octahedron

It's called Octahedron, it clocks in at about 49 minutes and practically everyone who worked on it has a compound last name. It's the forthcoming fifth studio album from The Mars Volta, and it can be in your hands as early as June 23.

The duo at the core of Mars Volta, guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala were joined on the album by multi-instrumentalist Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, drummer Thomas Pridgen, keyboardist Isaiah "Ikey" Owens, bassist Juan Alderete de la Peña, and guitarist John Frusciante.

Allegedly, U.S. tour dates to support the album are in the works, but so far all we know for sure is that they'll be at Bonnaroo and Outside Lands.
