For his current show, “I’m Dyin Over Here,” erstwhile FADER contributor and current New York Times illustrator, Andrew Kuo, made two paintings of going to a restaurant and seeing his ex-girlfriend on a date. We asked him if this happened twice, he said no. He painted a bunch of 2x4s to represent himself getting dunked on by Michael Jordan, charted all the ways he wasted a day. And every time we see him he’s wearing that same Bone Thug T-shirt (he’s got in on inside out in this video). And he included three separate mentions of three separate cooking shows in three separate pieces of art. That was cool. We visited Taxter & Spengemenn, where his show is up in New York City until May 16th, and had Kuo give us a walk through of his work.
