The Coathangers, have been honing their title as Atlanta, Georgia's finest girl-garage band sweeties since their debut in 2007. Now, following the buzz of their first record, the girl rockers have released their second full-length album, Scramble, bringing you back for another listen at four snarling girls, under the influence of lo-fi. And since we gave the first behind the scene look at the making of their video, we thought it would be only right to show you the final version of the band's video for their single "Stop, Stomp, Stompin'".
The video has got an undeniable witticism, taking a stab at "hating the Coathangers," as a Godzilla-esque monster dukes it out with some Power Rangers-like character, as he stomps around a cardboard-Atlanta, trying to take the girls down with the city. It is a clever video, with an assumable low budget, fit to join the catchy song, and we have to say, it's one of the most enjoyable videos we have seen in quite a while. And hey, we can't deny it, the song is pretty damn good as well.
We look forward to seeing what the ladies of the Coathangers will shell out to us next. Maybe some more low-budget takes on horror films for their next few singles? We're hoping with their mix of jocular fun and low fidelity love, the girls will gain the staying power they need to keep up with their fellow-Atlanta natives like Black Lips.
