Does It Offend You, Yeah? Broken Up?

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Whispers were passed around the outside smoking area last night at Popscene, where the discussion between club goers was sparked from an announcement that Does It Offend You, Yeah? had broken up earlier that day.

As relayed by Rickshaw Stop co-owner Cyrus Etemad and later by Popscene photographer Misha Vladmirksy’s Twitter, Etemad expressed concern that the band’s dissolution would affect his venue’s anniversary party in June, which the UK dancepunk guys were supposed to headline.

Currently, the Rickshaw’s website reads “LOADED 4-YEAR ANNIVERSARY w/ guests TBA.” DIOYY’s Twitter states “Rehersals start this weekend!” as of 3 AM PST. It was only a month ago they were twittering about their upcoming record (March 20: “Everything’s sounding great in the studio.. Hope everyone’s having fun at SXSW!”, March 28: “we are mixing the album”), so who knows the complete verdict. We’ll keep you posted.

You need more information. Who has broken up? The two guys who actually make the music or have the contracted musicians decided not to renew their contract?

    hello!

this rumour is hilarious on one hand and irritating on the other. the three of us that wrote the first album (james, me and dan) have been busy recording the second album for several months. we’ve got two great new members for the live show and are rehearsing right now.

    don’t believe rumours!
