The slow rise of Mike Sniper bka Blank Dogs from someone seemingly fighting success at every turn, reluctantly going from a warbly goth pop enigma when we wrote a story about him in FADER #59, to a dude you can kind of see when he plays live if the light is right and his hood isn’t completely covering his face, has been interesting to watch. Regardless, he continues to put out records at ridiculously prolific rate on a label that now causes us to buy entire batches of records without even knowing what a lot of them are. RCRD LBL has “Tin Birds,” from the excellent Under and Under album. It’s probably the sixth or seventh best song on the album, but we certainly aren’t complaining. Also, his real last name is so awesome it must be fake.
