If we knew Drizzy wasn’t really 50 Cent in disguise with Soulja Boy swag, we would say his marketing skills deserve blown-out Academy Award nominations and spot-on wins as his onstage collapse had the Internet going cra-zzzy over the weekend. Always take doctor's (except J and Dre) orders serious, folks, as Drake showed us last Friday…things were realer than expected as he hit the stage alongside Lil Wayne to perform their “Best I Ever Had” cut when not even a solid 34 seconds into it, yup, you got it. Drake hit the ground…HARD.
Some accounts of the event landed online following his unexpected collapse (which was reportedly due to his ACL problems as of lately) including an official scoop from every blogger's biggest fantasy, Miss Info herself…:
“My girl Marisa is backstage tonite at the "America's Most Wanted" show in Camden, New Jersey and just filled me in on the worst-case scenario that just happened onstage : ( According to her and other witnesses, Drake and Lil Wayne were performing "Best I Ever Had" when Drake was moving across the stage and did a spin move he must have turned his already-injured knee while spinning, because Drake suddenly collapsed on the stage. "He put his head down because he was in so much pain," and then four guys ran out on the stage and had to carry him off. Lil Wayne was left onstage in a state of confusion.”
Drake would later comfort every girl in the world (and the fellas who only support him because of their sisters) by writing via Twitter: "All is well.... on the bus laying down...getting surgery this week but I'm walking. Thank my whole YM family for the help. Lion Hearts!"
You can’t hate on the guy, shucks, you got the biggest buzz in hip-hop AND R&B while getting co-signs left and right from Jay-Z, Kanye West, his boss Weezy…and who knows, even the Prez likely has some records like “Successful” jamming on Air Force One. Get better Drake!!! —Cyrus Kyle Langhorne
