The Fiery Furnaces to Release Silent Album

Claiming that "Since bands can no longer sell audio, Fiery Furnaces will no longer continue to provide it," The Fiery Furnaces have announced the release of a Silent Record. The album itself will not be completely silent, but will rather feature an instructional manual of sorts that will teach you how to play the songs, with sheet music, graphic musical notations, "reports and illustrations of hypothetical performances previous to the formation of their hypotheses," and "memoranda to the nonexistent Central Committee of the Fiery-Furnaces-in-Exile concerning the non-creation of situations," amongst many other things (including those that have "nothing to do with the price of eggs or milk").

Once the album is released, the band plans to organize a series of Fan-Band concerts in which Fiery Furnaces aficionados will perform and interpret the music on Silent Record. To enter yourself, your friends, or "your post office break room," e-mail thefieryfurnacesemail@gmail.com.
