Respectable musicians writing songs for lowbrow teen movies continues to be in vogue with Jarvis Cocker‘s contribution to the upcoming Forgetting Sarah Marshall spinoff, Get Him to the Greek. Mr. Cocker has written three songs for Russell Brand‘s character, a pathetic rockstar attempting to prepare a tour. Looks like they gave the costume department a break with that casting decision (ZING!). About the songs, Jarvis says they’re “rather silly, but it’s a silly film.” The movie also stars Jonah Hill and Rose Byrne, and is scheduled for release in 2010. (via Billboard)
