I'm so glad I discovered this guy, accidentally through Myspace. I've actually thought about moving to Denver after I grad. because it seems like a such a cool city in a beautiful place, not to mention a crazy ass music scene.

Glad to see one of my favorite people getting some attention from elsewhere. It's funny the misconceptions people have about a place they've never been and have not bothered to learn much about. Everyone has those misconceptions, even people from more "sophisticated" locales. Heck, I still have images in my head of North Dakota being a plain of glass pockmarked by small cities. But there's probably really cool stuff going on there that most of the rest of the country knows little about.

The goth scene in Denver, as far as I'm concerned, died three years ago when all the great bands in that scene broke up, went further underground or essentially went inactive and the vaccum was filled by uninspired EBM drivel. That subculture tends to be fairly hermetic in its musical tastes. While not a goth myself, I played in a band that was part of that scene.

Travis articulated well what is cool about Denver and he's just giving you a taste of what's here. There are great, relatively obscure scenes across the country (Boise, ID, Iowa City, IA, Phoenix, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Salt Lake City, UT and others), Denver is just one of the largest that consistently gets ignored unless the band becomes gigantic.

It's about time. So much love to Travis for all of his hard work and constant evolution as an artist. Denver has so much cool shit going on, and Dark Rift and this excellent mix is only a taste. If you haven't been to Denver yet, GET HERE.

Great to see Denverites showing out. Green Carpet has a nice song on there, my fave on the mix. All of it is great though, not traditional by any means, but then again nobody wants that.
