First it was Wendy Williams, and now it looks like Paula Abdul is putting the deuce fingers upward and passing on another season of “American Idol.” You know, that show where an English accent, Coca-Cola product placements to the max and occasional stereotypes lead to non-stop ratings? Ha! Well, rather than doing it 2000s style with a press release, ol’ girl Abdul kept it 2010 and moving with her announcement coming straight outta Twitter:
"With sadness in my heart, I've decided not to return to ['American Idol']. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all I'll miss being a part of a show that I helped from day1become an international phenomenon," Abdul wrote on her Twitter page Tuesday (August 4) night. "What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking."
From a couple sex affair rumors with contestants, to helping “Put On” (sooo Young Jeezy ’08 with it…) Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia, Abdul has decided to get up, get out and get something…else. While it’s not yet known whether she will pick the pen back up and start inking her own music career all over again (or putting it on the big screen), one thing is for certain…the “sex” appeal of “American Idol” goes with her—although Ryan Seacrest may be able to save a couple sprinkles for the Carson Daly-like fans.—Cyrus Kyle Langhorne
