The Noisettes have been tooling around in stateside obscurity for what feels like forever but even with high profile gigs they haven't really hit it until this album (I saw them in like '07 opening for Erasure or Spankrock, can't remember which, but either way, nobody cared). Maybe because they were milking those weird proggy guitars for a hot minute and everything felt super dirgey? The throwback soul is fully working now, as you can see in this clip when Wendy Williams gushes her face off about them and Shingai almost starts crying. Sidebar: her theme show music is kind of dope, no? (Via)
