According to ABC News, Bob Dylan was picked up by a Long Branch, NJ police officer last month after residents spotted the aging singer-songwriter wandering through a front yard during a rain storm. The officer, 24-year old Kristie Buble, was unable to identify a rain-soaked Dylan when she arrived at the scene, the old guy insisting that he was in the area on a tour stop with two other old guys, John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson. Incredulous, Buble plopped Dylan in the backseat of her cruiser and, following procedure, took him back to where he said his train of tour buses were parked. From the ABC News report:
"OK Bob, why don't you get in the car and we'll drive to the hotel and go verify this?' " she said she told him. "I put him in the back of the car. To be honest with you, I didn't really believe this was Bob Dylan. It never crossed my mind that this could really be him. I pulled into the parking lot and sure enough there were these enormous tour buses, and I thought, 'Whoa.'"
Dylan's handlers then presented the legend's passport at which point he was released and Buble began feeling the wrath of her older fellow officers. She did note however that Dylan was wearing sweatpants and rain boots, one half of an outfit you'd never expect to find him in. Could have happened to anyone.
