Mick Boogie Teams with Peter Bjorn and John for Remix LP

One of my favorite DJ/Producers in the game, Mick Boogie, teams up with my new guilty pleasure Peter Bjorn and John for a remix LP. The Swedish trio of indie-rockers have quickly become choice to hip-hop heavyweights like Kanye West & Drake, being sampled on tracks such as "Young Folks" and "Let's Just Call it Off", respectively. Now with Re-Living Thing, a remix to their latest album Living Thing, they'll be attached to many more hip-hoppers. From newer bucks like Wale, 88-Keys and Big Sean to established artists Gza, Talib Kweli and Bun-B, the Swedes will quickly become hotter on the streets when the LP releases August 27th. With Boogie no stranger to mixing up the prototypical mixtape, boasting last years Viva la Hova, the Jay-Z/Coldplay mashup, he explains the creative process of this latest project saying, "I listened to the album over and over again and I learned it and loved it, and I thought about all the people I wanted to work with and who fit what." He then matched producers to artists for each song. "I think this is a great model of how to do out-of-the-box stuff," Boogie says. And "out-of-the-box" is a great way to sum up nearly all of Mick's musical efforts to date.
