Add Sex Pistols singer John Lydon to the list of those mourning the demise of Oasis; the musician has reportedly revealed that he was "sad" to hear that the band had split. Female First quotes Lydon as saying, "It is sad. They're a nice backdrop band on a dull day. There's no content or depth to Oasis but it's still poignant." He added, "Noel is fantastic, one of Britain's finest," but suggested that Liam had aped his vocal style: "Liam's alright if you want a second-rate Rotten. I remember hearing 'Rock N Roll Star' for the first time and it sounded like John Lennon and John Lydon mixed together."
Damning praise, for sure.
