The entire prospect of a giant group like The Phenomenal Handclap Band has so many potential perils to navigate. It's difficult to not be gimmicky with a cult-like crew of people in flowing white linen, so to come correct with the monster beat of "15 to 20" is a double triumph. And it's difficult not to be awesome when you are eight people in a modern day living soundtrack to The Conversation. "15 to 20"—we recommend seeking out the extended version, the three minutes of the video are curt to the groove—is less Latin than some of their other tracks and honestly benefits from a more universal funk. The giant bell ringing that floats in and out of the track is pretty ridiculous, but it's bold statements you want from an octet.
