Sin Fang Bous, “Catch the Light” MP3
- story Matthew Schnipper
Press information for Sin Fang Bous says that the Icelandic singer sounds like Animal Collective, Panda Bear or Caribou. Which, well, is kind of true. But it’s disappointing to have that pointed out, because before it was, we were pretty set to write a blog post about how he sounds like Belle and Sebastian. That is some music we can get behind. “Stars of Track and Field” in Bjork-ian cute forest trill? Yes please! “Bros” in Sigur Ros mystic fake language icicle voice? We’ll take it, but it’s not as bone appealing. The NY Times charted their sleeping on Sin Fang Bous—maybe that can be remedied when he comes to the US opening for Múm in October. “Catch the Light” is from his now available debut full length, Clangour, and check out TheFADER.com’s exclusive non-album track from him, “Nothings.”
