VH1 Divas 2009 Set To Contain No Divas

What exactly makes a diva? Is it hair? Is it clothes? Is it attitude, or better yet, sass? We ask this question not in an effort to incite some kind of beauty shop debate, but because we can't fathom how any of the supremely talented ladies selected for VH1's Divas 2009 qualify? The show, which airs tonight at 9 PM eastern time, is the first since 2004 and will honor Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, and Jordin Sparks. A slight case could be made for Hudson or maybe even Adele, but Kelly Clarkson? She might be the nicest person on Earth right now. In fact, Miley Cyrus might be the closest thing to a diva on the list just because she does more or less whatever she wants and never really has to answer for it. By the way, how's that boy that's your friend that moved into your house, but who's not your boyfriend doing, Miley? We won't front, we'll probably be tuned in tonight with everyone else (Stevie is performing with Jennifer Hudson!), but for a show who's first honorees included Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Shania Twain, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion and Carole King, we can't help but think this latest version is a bit watered down.
