Video: Slim Thug, “Thug”

We want Slim Thug to succeed, we really do, but “I Ran” was so not what we wanted to hear that it cast a pall over the rest of Boss of All Bosses. So much so, in fact, that we overlooked “Thug,” the Mr. Lee produced creeper that sounds like it came right out of the DJ Paul playbook: buzzing low-end keys and a freaky vocal sample that would be perfect for Project Pat. Honestly, this video is kind of whatever—notable only because Slim Thug cut off his beaded braids(!)—but it comes just in time for us to pretend that this was the actual first single instead of the third from an album that came out late March.
