Recession Even Ruining Good Old Fashioned Gold Statues of Mustachioed Musicians

When it comes to recessionomics, gold-plated full-sized half-naked  statues of celebrities atop horses are probably around the top of our list of things we can live without until this whole thing blows over. But we have to admit the idea of Nick Cave meticulously crafting and erecting such a statue had got us through some rough patches in the last few months. "I have a modest loincloth on. It's a rather wonderful homoerotic work of art,"Cave says to Time.com while describing the envisioned statue. But apparently the combined downturn in economy and drought in his hometown of Warracknabeal, Australia has caused Cave to wait on the whole idea. While this is perfectly logical and yes, certainly the right decision, we have to imagine such a statue would have some intangible effects much more priceless than anything in this cheesy Master Card commercials ever was.
