It was only a matter of time Alicia Keys would let Mashonda play catch-up and secure her boy-boy (husband, technically) Swizz Beatz leaving the Super Woman (we see you too, Lil Mo) having to finally dry snitch on the new album, The Element of Freedom.
Aside from promising her fourth (word, this is her FOURTH album (c) The Madd Rapper Voice) LP out December 1st, homegirl also said artists Kerry “Krucial” Brothers and Jeff Bhasker dropped their (draws and) side projects to help craft the album.
"The music is really strong, and the drums are really aggressive, but my voice is vulnerable and delicate," Keys wrote in a statement. “You can feel your freedom and express your freedom in every way you possibly can, and that's what I did with this album…The sound of it is very different—it almost feels like you're flying…It takes you there. It has that piano, heavy-drum feeling. But the song touches you in this way—you dream of having all these things, you dream of going all these places. But what's the point of doing that, having that, if the one you want to be there isn't with you?"
We won’t lie, the statement was being spread around online more than Ja Rule’s jewelry back in 2003, but props to @MTVNews for being the reference guys. The most surprising thing is her album NOT dropping on November 24th like we all expected, but regardless, Alicia is definitely back in the studio penning more love hits and records we all tend to expect from her. Although (pause application, please), is it not hard trying to understand her recent taste in fellas? Common? Swizz Beatz? I mean, Ms. Boo, I’m definitely in that light skin category and with the haunted thoughts of you showing your “diary” off to those two guys..ehhh...hit me, no seriously….. -@CyrusKLanghorne
