The xx Plot Takeover of New York Over The Course of Three Days

The xx are what we like to call subtle seducers. They're not that guy at the bar with the Axe body spray on and the chest hair and the line about "U" and "I" and the alphabet from like fourth grade. They're more like that person you meet at a coffee shop that has you all hot and bothered talking about hammocks or something, and then you realize you just got hot and bothered over lawn furniture. Hell, they made a sexy song about VCRs and we haven't seen one of those in years.

This unorthodox brand of sexy is invading CMJ in a big way. And your best option is probably to simply embrace it and try and catch whatever leftover scent it has. The festivities for the conference start tonight. But we can only assume The xx are taking one big collective power nap, because while they were originally only scheduled for two performances, the London foursome will now be packing five of them into a three-day period, including one surprise show and one newly announced Apple store gig. Here they are.

10.21 Mercury Lounge (9 p.m. set time)
10.22 Apple In-Store (SOHO) (7 p.m. set time)
10.22 NME CMJ Party - The Delancey (11:45 p.m. set time)
10.23 Music Hall of Williamsburg (7 p.m. set time)
10.23 Tribeca Grand (1 a.m. set time)

They're the "special guest" at the NME Party. So don't tell anyone OK? Deal.
