Monsters Of The Kiss Army (Folk Supergroup Does KISS For Halloween)

In a recent post we lamented on whether or not Conor Oberst does Halloween concerts, as they might hopefully make him feel less alone with everyone in their mask and costume with him on stage. Well, as it turns out not only does he do them, but he does them very very well.

With his Monsters Of Folks team of indie-folk superheroes (him, M. Ward, Jim James, Mike Mogis) in Lousville Saturday, they united as the greatest four man band in the history of the world (no, not that one) and gave a roaring cover of "Detroit Rock City" with James in the Simmons' tongue... err shoes. Speaking of shoes, apparently Oberst wore eight-inch heels to play the Paul Stanley part. This is all generally awesome on a couple levels. One, it's probably not what the crowd in Kentucky saw coming when they bought tickets to a "folk" concert. And two, it's pretty rad that these dudes can legitimately pull this off/shred so wildly.
