The Besnard Lakes to Rain All Kinds of Atmosphere on Your 2010

Do you find a gaping void in your musical life when it comes to atmospheric Canadian indie rock? No? Oh weird. Well you should know either way that  The Besnard Lakes are set to rain all kinds of fiery atmosphere all over your 2010! [Photo by Jessica Eaton]The Montreal collective, headed by husband-and-wife duo Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas, will release The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night on March 9 of this coming year via the venerable Jagjaguwar. The album is described as "a twisting chronicle of spies, double agents, novelists and aspiring rock gods turned violent. Loyalty, dishonor, love and hatred are all seen through the eyes of two spies, communicating through short wave in code and fighting a war that may not be real." Sounds like that one movie with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt we still hold so dear. So many hunks, so little time!
