Video: Portishead, “Chase The Tear” + MP3

December 10, 2009

As today, December 10th, is International Human Rights Day and a key element of The FADER's history is illumination of artists in societies lacking many basic rights and our former EIC Alex Wagner now directly works to help those denied their rights, it is with great ease that we post this epic krautrock jammer from Portishead, who are releasing it exclusively with Amnesty International, with all proceeds from its sales going towards the organization's human rights work. It sounds almost nothing like the brutal melancholy of the group's recent Third, and actually doesn't sound like any of their old stuff either. If you don't listen to Beth Gibbons' lyrics it almost sounds upbeat, which is weird and awesome.
