More legal tension involving Band Hero: after No Doubt sued Activision over the "inappropriate" use of their avatars in the latest iteration of Band Hero (inappropriate meaning that the avatars can be used to perform songs other than those in the No Doubt catalog), Activision has counter-sued, claiming that the band has breached its contract.
The company claims that No Doubt has failed in its due diligence by failing to promote the game's release despite benefitting from appearing on it. Moreover, they claim that the band should have been aware that their characters might have been used in such a way and are seeking costs and damages (this despite the fact that Stefani and Co. have repeatedly stated that they had no idea that their avatars would be used in such a manner). Gwen Stefani is going to write some heartbreaking shit when all of this over and done with, huh? Yeah, probably not. Those days are long gone.
