Premiere: Dyme Def, “Do Something” MP3

January 06, 2010

Can someone loan us a fog machine so we can properly listen to this steamyass new Dyme Def track? The first single off their Sextape, it's all sensual synths, live drums and husky rapping that makes this room seem too bright, this chair not recliner-y enough, our outfit way too puritanical, the fact that we don't have a lifesize velvet blacklight painting of naked James Franco hanging in our kitchen somehow just... wrong. The beat sounds like Salem produced it in a smoky Seattle strip club and enlisted Diamanda Galas' young male protege to sing the hook in the outro, but maybe we're just inferring that from the S&M references in the lyrics. Dyme Def are suddenly leaning goth, and we think they need to lean harder. That's what she said.
