Happy Birthday David Bowie

BowieCatBirthday63 glorious years have passed since the babe with the power/kitty cat came into this world. And, according to Pitchfork, a long-rumored Bowie tribute album is taking different shape as a benefit for the War Child organization, with the likes of Megapuss, Rainbow Arabia, Vivian Girls and A Place to Bury Strangers among the list of artists involved. (Dear Lord, is APTBS’ cover of “Suffragette City” going to sound bonkers.) I no title yet, but the the album will be available on CD and limited edition double-LP (via Manimal,) as well as digitally with a host of bonus tracks. The as-of-now “tentative” tracklist is available after Das Leap, alongside a hefty video extravaganza.

Happy Birthday, DB.

Thanks to T.Cole for the photo.
